Tamburino Talks Law: Britney Spears Conservatorship Battle Hits Roadblock


AA US court has rejected an attempt by Britney Spears, 38, to have her father removed as conservator of her estate.

A Califorina court rejected an attempt by Britney Spears to have her father removes as a conservator of her estate. Jamie Spears has been his daughter's legal guardian for 12 years, due to concerns about her mental health. Conservatorships are very difficult to remove and many watching this case a wondering if Ms. Spears will be able to regain control of her life and estate. During the hearing in mid-November, Ms Spears' lawyer, Samuel Ingham, said she and her father have no "viable working relationship" and have not spoken in a "long while". Ms Spears' lawyer also said the pop star was "afraid" of him, and that she would not perform so long as he remained in the role. Her father's lawyer argued that he always acted in the best interests of his daughter. The judge decide not to remove Ms. Spears father, but did appoint a co-conservator Bessemer Trust. The judge in the case said she would consider future appeals? So what's next for this case?
